Hi Everybody! This is me, Dena Delgado. Some people call me "The Dachshund Lady" because of all my dachshunds and my knowledge about them.

Here are Princess and The King. They were my first dachshunds. The King was the "alpha-dog" of The Delgadog family.  Princess went to the Bridge November 20, 1998, at age 11; and King left us on October 10, 2001, at 14 years old.

Alexandra and Eliza-Beth (black and tans) were born May 2, 1991.  We adopted Nikolas in October 1991.

Alexandra, Nikolas and Eliza-Beth were 6 months old when this picture was taken back in 1991.

Alexandra grew to be a very pretty dachshund. She always had a puppy face. Her nickname was Alex-Puppy.

Alexandra went to the Bridge on April 23, 1999, at 8 years of age.

Nikolas loves to perch on the top of the sofa. When he was 8 years old, his face was almost totally white. I call him Nik.  He is now the patriarch of the family.

Eliza-Beth is a standard girl with lots of love to share. She is my son's favorite. Her nicknames are, Lizbif, Fat-Dog and "Zoftig" (German for plump).  She is the best bed cuddler in the world.

Eliza-Beth and Nikolas are 13 years old and still going strong.
Kristofer is mama’s boy and my soul-mate. His nicknames are Kris and ‘Topher. He loves belly rubs and "goforarides".  He was 12 years old July 17, 2004.

Victoria was my little piebald rescue girl. She thought her name was Tori-Tori, because I always had to call her twice to get her attention.

Tori passed over the Rainbow Bridge on July 8, 2004, just 4 months short of her 12th birthday.  We miss her.

Jazmyn was my "talking" dachshund. My favorite nickname for her was Jazzy or sometimes Jazzy-Wazzy.

Jazmyn went to the Bridge April 29, 2001, at age 8.  We miss her very, very much.

Margaret is a tummy slut (she loves belly rubs). She is sweet as honey. Her nickname is Margie-Pargie.  She is the granddaughter of Eliza-Beth and Nikolas.  Jazmyn is her mother.

Margie is now living with our friends, Ralph and Justina in Moorpark, CA.

Little John is another of my rescue dogs. He got his name because he is very little, only 7 pounds soaking wet.

Little John now lives with my good friend, Gino, and his other dachshunds Ace and Allie, but he visits often.

Fargo is my dapple boy. We call him Fargo-Flash because he is full of mischief, and he will run under the table in a flash with anything he can steal off the coffee table.

Tori-Tori is Fargo's mother.

Diana is Fargo and Margie's daughter.  She  looks like her Grandmother Jazmyn.

Jordie is the last of the Delgadog line.  He was born to Diana on September 5, 2001.  He is smaller than Little John and fiestier than his great-great-great grandmother, Princess.  Jordie now lives with the Williams family in San Diego, where he is being spoiled rotten.

Some of my crew 1997.

Bunny was rescued from an awful shelter in January 2002 when she was 6 years old.  Her bladder was filled with egg-sized stones, and she would have died without us.  Surgery to remove the stones was successful and she is now a beloved member of our family.

Jesse-James came to us in February of 1998 at the ripe old age of 14 years.  He was my "little man" and though his body was small, he had a heart the size of Texas.
Here is Jesse-James at 19 1/2 years old.  Though he became blind and deaf, his nose worked perfectly and always knew where he was and if his mama was nearby.

Jesse-James went to the Bridge on September 2, 2003.  Rest in Peace my precious little man.

Woody & Callie are characters.  Woody (red longhair) was born in my home to Bonnie, a puppy-mill rescue, in August 2000.  Bonnie was adopted when her puppies were weaned and she was spayed, but Woody won my heart and never left.

Callie (black and tan longhair) was a rescue puppy of 1 year old when she came here.  She and Woody bonded, and they are an inseparable pair. They are only a few months apart in age.

The Lady Sara, a.k.a.  Sara Lee, was rescued in June 2003 from a breeder who abandoned her dogs.  Sara Lee is 10 years old and she loves to "talk", especially if she thinks you are making dinner for her too slowly.

This is Joey.  We actually named him "Joseph and His Technicolor Dream Coat". He is a chocolate and tan dapple.

Joey is the newest member of the Delgadog crew.  We rescued Joey from a puppy mill. He was never given hugs and kisses as a puppy, so he doesn't know how to give kisses, but he sure does enjoy hugs.

Kita is the only member of the Delgadog family who is not a dachshund, but she was raised by dachshunds and has no fear of them.  Kita was 20 years old in April 2006.  The average lifespan of a cockatiel is 15 years.
