Hey, this is a picture of me, Dena Delgado! I have had dogs all my life. I had Doberman Pinschers while I was growing up in Brooklyn, New York. And then I switched to raising Dachshunds back in 1987. Everyone knows that Dachshunds think they are Doberman’s anyway.

I have lived in Southern California since 1978. I am married and raised three children here: Lily, Josh, and Gilbert Jr. We also have two cockatiels, Kermy & Keeta. For many years we had a sparrow named George, but that is another story.

In 1994, I jointed the internet community and signed my posts "The Dachshund Lady". I got this nickname from the neighborhood kids who frequently watched me walk my dogs in the park near my home.

Today, I am involved with several Dachshund mailing lists, offering information and advice about my favorite dogs, the Dachshund.

I joined the Dachshund Club of Santa Ana Valley, and I enjoy going to the local Dachshund specialties as well as all breed shows. I also participate in Dachshund Rescue for Southern California, both fostering and placing Dachshunds in need.
